Hiatus

Following a busy year in which Ernie and the Automatics have performed numerous shows throughout the Northeast and recorded a bunch of great new music, the band landed the opening slot for the North American Deep Purple Tour. The tour took them to the most hallowed, legendary theatres and outdoor venues from Quebec to California and all points in between. They received standing ovations everywhere, something nearly unheard of for an opening band, as they blew away audiences with their energetic live show and their fresh original songs. Choosing to rest on a positive note, the band has decided to take a break. Ernie and the Automatics are on hiatus at this time. Ernie and The Automatics will be performing four shows, please check the show schedule.

Ernie and the Automatics join The Boston Legends Tour

Last week’s Foxboro Boston Legends date on St. Patrick’s Day was off the proverbial hook! It is very likely that some people are still recovering, but when the band went back to Boston, Barry stayed on with the Boston Legends tour, since he is one of the main guys handling the smokin’ guitar duties for this monumental all-star jam– The Boston Legends’ lineup also includes former members of J. Geils Band, Aerosmith, The Cars, The Joe Perry Project, Farrenheit, Jon Butcher Axis and Bellevue Cadillac. Ernie and the Automatics will rejoin their lead axe-man as support for the entire second leg of the Boston Legends tour in April.

New Kids on the Block & Ernie and the Automatics

On Sunday, December 20th Ernie and the Automatics performed at the House of Blues with the New Kids on the Block. This was an amazing night of music for a great cause, a portion of the ticket sales went to Toys for Tots. Ernie and the Automatics started the night off with a bang, then joined the New Kids on stage. Check out these great photos from the rehearsal by Rebecca Gauchman and the story from Boston.com.

Some members of the New Kids on the Block were in an undisclosed location on the evening of Dec 16, practicing with Ernie Boch Junior and his band, Ernie and the Automatics.

Donnie Wahlberg and Jordan Knight were at the jam session.

They were getting ready for a show at the House of Blues in Boston on the 20th.
